Why MMRP Is Returning
It has been about 20 years since my first V-Day production.
Attending UNLV's Women’s Studies program allowed me to be a part of two University Productions of The Vagina Monologues. After graduation, community involvement continued with eight additional V-Day productions, including The Vagina Monologues at The Space and a 2018 Las Vegas production of A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer at Cockroach Theatre, with Yoga Haven as the beneficiary.
There is something incredibly powerful about this work.
It impacts the audience, but it can be just as transformative for the people performing it. These pieces ask us to sit with difficult truths, speak them out loud, move through anger, grief, humor, discomfort, tenderness, and rage... and then do something with all of that energy.
That is why MMRP is returning now.
This production expands beyond the stage, weaving together music, movement, visual art, percussion, community organizations, artists, and local voices.
The intention is to create a space where outrage becomes expression, expression becomes connection, and connection becomes meaningful community action.

What Is MMRP?
A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer (MMRP) is a collection of original works centered on women, violence, resilience, truth, and the power of speaking what is so often left unspoken.
Edited by V (formerly Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues) and Mollie Doyle, MMRP was first presented as part of V-Day’s Until the Violence Stops: NYC festival in 2006.
Writers from around the world were invited to respond to the theme of women and violence in whatever form felt true to them: a memory, a monologue, a rant, a prayer, a poem, a scene, a reflection.
The result is a body of work that can be funny, devastating, uncomfortable, intimate, angry, beautiful, and deeply human.
Twenty years later, these stories still matter.
And this time, in Las Vegas, we are bringing them to life through theater, music, movement, art, and community.

Be Part of MMRP Las Vegas
This production is growing beyond the stage, and there are many ways to be part of it.
We are inviting actors, musicians, dancers, percussionists, visual artists, spoken-word performers, vendors, community organizations, advocates, sponsors, volunteers, and local businesses to join us.
We are also seeking donated artwork for our silent auction inspired by the theme:
SILENCE PROTECTS VIOLENCE.
Think mouths, voices, truth, rage, healing, testimony, survival, being heard, Mother Earth, and the fierce feminine energy of rising.
If this speaks to you, reach out.
Maybe you perform.
Maybe you create.
Maybe you sponsor.
Maybe you connect us with a community organization.
Maybe you simply help spread the word.
Everyone has a place in this movement.
